Sunday 9/3 Bell ringers and moving day

Up with the ringing of the church bells behind our hotel. The bell ringers started at 9:00 am and rang for 15 minutes. 

Choosing to drive south to Devon on Sunday morning was a good decision. Traffic was light and moving well. Only a couple slow downs due to road works. Passing through Bristol was smooth for us motorist going south. For those poor souls heading north, not so much. School starts on Tuesday so this was the last weekend before kids return to class. The road was crowded with caravans (campers) of tired campers headed home. We saw slow or stopped traffic for 50 miles. I believe some may just make it home in time to go to work on Monday.

We made reservations at the Hampton by Hilton next to the Exeter airport. I didn't realize the road leading to the Hampton would be a one track country lane with laybys. The Exeter airport doesn't have a drop off and pick up like most airports. At least nothing that I saw. People were stopping on the road to let out passengers and saying their goodbyes. 

Sherri and I settled in to our room and started looking for things to do in Devon. Trish and David don't return until Monday. We will see them on Tuesday.

We headed down to the mall area to get some walking in, then headed to dinner. Dinner was at the Golden Pond Chinese restaurant. The drive was another single track road to a small village. The Chinese restaurant was in an old Pub. Just like home, a local restaurant goes out of business and a Chinese restaurant moves in. Everybody loves Chinese food. The food was good. 

Oscar sent us a text asking when we will be home. Be home soon buddy.
