Wednesday 9/6 The Tower of London

Sherri and I laid in a little longer than usaual. We needed the rest. The apartment is less than a mile from the Tower of London. We visited the tower in 2013, our first trip to London. We didn't complete the total tour so we always wanted to return to finish. 

As we walked, we passed an Enterprise car rental. We inquired if we could return our rental at this location instead of driving across London to Heathrow airport. For a small fee, they would let us return the car. We walked back and retrieved the ca. 

We spent the afternoon touring the walls and castle. Our last visit, the line to see the Crown Jewels was 2 plus hours long. We didnt wait in line. This time we walked right in. No line. The artifacts were amazing. Gold scepters, silver plates and cups and of course the amazing crowns. No pictures allowed so you will have to go see them for yourself. 

We walked until our bodies said enough then headed back to the apartment. The route back took us through a small harbor where some classic cabin cruisers where moored.

The rest of the evening was spent relaxing and having dinner in. Sherri made a very nice meal of lamb shanks and potatoes.
